Hi Lola, please tell us a little about yourself.

I’m Lola Violet, an independent singer-songwriter based in LA. My music lives somewhere between dreamy euphoric pop and late-night emotional spirals. I’ve always been chasing that feeling of connection and catharsis that music gives you and now I try to create it for other people.

Describe your sound in three words.

Euphoric. Addictive. Vulnerable.

Who influenced you and why did you choose to make music?

I grew up loving artists like Lana Del Rey and The Beatles. People who built entire worlds around their music. I started making songs in my bedroom back in 2018 and never stopped. Music became my way of processing everything I didn’t know how to say out loud.

Tell us about your new album, “Reckless Attraction.”

Reckless Attraction is a collection of songs about chasing moments that feel electric—even if they’re a little chaotic. It started as a bunch of late-night voice memos and turned into this whirlwind of impulsive decisions, blurred lines, and unforgettable nights. It’s fun, dramatic, and a little bit unhinged in the best way.

What’s the story behind the songs?

A lot of my writing starts with one specific night moment or line someone said. A lot of the songs were born from a late-night spiral and a voice memo I didn’t even think would turn into anything. It’s about giving in to temptation and all the chaos that follows.

Can you walk us through your creative process for this album? How did the idea come to life?

Honestly, it was just a compilation of different ideas I’ve had! Normally I start with a beat my producer and I come up with together and then we loop the beat until we get lyrics.

Were there any specific experiences or emotions that fueled the writing and composition of the song?

Just lots of late-night emotions, conversations, and experiences!

How do you usually start working on a new song? Do you begin with lyrics melodies or a concept?

Usually a concept or a phrase. I’ll write it down in my notes app and later it turns into something. Sometimes it’s a melody first but most of my favorite songs started with just a single line that felt true.

How involved were you in the production and arrangement of “Reckless Attraction?”

Very. I don’t produce myself, but I always sit with my producers and give them notes or guidance on the beats they’re making! I like to be very hands-on during the production process.

What advice would you give to your younger self and why?

Stop trying to be the most agreeable person in the room. Your power is in your honesty, even when it makes people uncomfortable.

How would your best friend describe you?

They’d probably say I’m really driven and always chasing something bigger. I’m the kind of person who sets wild goals and actually goes for them. I work hard, I care deeply, and I never do anything halfway. Also a little chaotic, super loyal, and always down to romanticize literally everything—even a trip to Trader Joe’s.

If you were a book, what would be the title of the book and why?

Everything happens for a reason because I really live every day with that mantra in mind.

What’s next for Lola Violet in the second half of 2025?

More music, more performances, and a visual world that brings everything to life. I’m also working on something special for fans. Can’t say much yet but it’s coming.

What is your favorite healthy food?

I LOVE roasted broccoli and zucchini!

And your favorite cheat food?

Mac & cheese!

How would you explain your fashion style?

Pop princess meets futuristic loungewear. Lots of monochrome sparkles and bold silhouettes. I like to feel like I just stepped out of a dream or a music video.

What is your definition of happiness?

Creating something that resonates. Being around people who see you clearly and who make me laugh! Feeling proud of where you’re standing even if you’re still figuring it out.

If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?

Honestly, Jesus. Whether you’re religious or not, I feel like that would be one of the most fascinating conversations you could ever have. I’d want to ask him about humanity and what we’re getting right or wrong.

Which place that you have visited do you think changed you in a particular way, maybe for motivation or to see a different reality?

Japan. Everything about it made me feel so inspired.

Tell us your top 3 countries to travel to.

Japan, Italy, and Greece! 3 of my favorite places.

And which countries or cities are still on your bucket list?

Australia, Switzerland, and Norway.

If you could have coffee with any historical figure to discuss current events, who would it be and why?

I feel like Jesus would be an interesting person to meet. I’d love to hear his take on current events.
